Job Description

- Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of new end-user laptops and workstations, PCs, and Macs.
- Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of non-PC devices such as printers, tablets, smartphones, IoT devices, etc.
- Work with end-users for onboarding newly assigned laptops and workstations.
- Provide excellent verbal and written skills geared towards customer service and IT support with end users.
- Inventory and maintain software installations and updates using tools such as PDQ Inventory and PDQ Deploy.
- Maintain regular security scans of desktops and servers using tools such as Sophos Anti-Virus.
- Troubleshoot quarantined Anti-Virus discoveries and false positives.
- Perform ad-hoc security and network scans using tools such as Tenable.io.
- Troubleshoot issues with common University software such as Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, and web-based storage and tools such as Google Drive and Box.com.
- Become proficient in understanding and maintaining teaching and conference room technology, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, managing multiple audio and video inputs, and configuring touchscreen controls.
- Knowledge with configuring Windows and Mac OS-level settings.
- Knowledge with updating Windows Drivers.
- Knowledge with networking concepts such as VPN, MAC addresses, IP Addresses, Firewalls.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Demonstrated organizational skill and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrate ability with time management tools such as Microsoft Teams/Slack and online calendars.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Ability to work on-site. We are located in the historic Forbes Building – in the heart of the University of Arizona, just south of Old Main.
- Experience with PDQ Inventory and Deploy.
- Experience with Group Policy Objects (GPO).
- Experience with Microsoft Deployment Tools (MDT) Task Sequences.
- Experience with audio/video/media technologies.
- Experience with Windows Local Security Policies.
- Experience with Active Directory-joined Windows devices.
- Experience with Zoom features and functionality.
- Experience with managing document centers, such as Xerox, Ricoh, Minolta printers/scanners.
