      Main duties of the job

      As first line IT Support, you will provide support across our organisation and its subcontracted services, assisting staff with first-line technical issues, managing NHS mail accounts, providing training on Clinical systems ensuring smooth IT operations across multiple sites. The role includes managing system access, handling system cleanses, performing smart card resets, managing IT hardware distribution, and supporting other engineers. The individual will also monitor and respond to IT queries, ensuring seamless IT support across the organisation, including remote and on-site assistance.

      An understanding of Microsoft 365 (M365) tools such as SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange Online is required to assist with user management and troubleshooting issues related to these platforms.

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      First Line IT Support:

        • Provide timely and effective first-line IT support to all NHS staff, resolving issues in-person, via email, or over the phone.
        • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including laptops, desktops, printers, and network-related problems.
        • Conduct password resets, unlocks, and smart card management for NHSmail, EMIS, and other NHS systems.
        • Monitor the IT enquiries inbox, maintain queries from multiple team channels, and escalate issues as necessary.

      Systems Access and Support:

        • Manage EMIS, Adastra, and Cerner system access across all instances, including clinical systems such as CRS.
        • Perform system cleanses across all instances of EMIS, Adastra, Cerner, and RedCentric VPNs.
        • Support users with creating NHSmail accounts, managing distribution lists, and providing SharePoint permissions.
        • Work with the ICB to update multiple portals with information as requested by clinical and non-clinical staff.

      M365 Support:

        • Provide basic support for Microsoft 365 (M365) applications, including SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange Online.
        • Assist with M365 licences distribution and configuration for staff.
        • Troubleshoot user issues related to M365 tools and ensure correct permissions are granted within SharePoint sites and Teams.

      IT Hardware Management:

        • Set up and deploy IT hardware, including mobile devices, laptops, and imaging devices.
        • Hand out and collect IT equipment, ensuring accurate stock management and asset tracking.
        • Conduct stock takes and ensure asset lists, including remote working IT kits, are kept up to date.
        • Support with the ordering, collection, and distribution of IT kits, ensuring new and existing staff receive relevant IT hardware.

      Site IT Setup and Support:

        • Assist with setting up IT infrastructure at NHS sites, ensuring systems are operational and accessible.
        • Participate in IT refresh programs and support the setup of additional NHS sites outside of Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
        • Be the point of contact for IT-related orders and escalate more specialist queries as needed.

      Training and User Support:

        • Provide basic training to NHS staff on key healthcare systems, including EMIS, Adastra, and Cerner.
        • Offer support and guidance to other first-line engineers, including collaboration with tools like Babble.
        • Support with MS Teams and 0365 licences, ensuring proper distribution and setup for users.

      Mobile and Remote Support:

        • Provide first-line support for mobile phone issues, including setup and troubleshooting.
        • Assist staff working remotely with IT issues, ensuring they have the necessary support to perform their duties.

      Administrative and Technical Oversight:

        • Ensure accurate maintenance of IT asset records, including managing collections and updates to asset lists.
        • Visit various NHS sites in Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, and beyond to provide onsite IT support.
