      OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE :

      • As part of its awarded contract for the Automated People Mover System for the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Alstom has in its scope the design, supply and commissioning of the automated vehicles, CBTC signaling and communication systems.
      • The role of the Installation, Test & Commissioning SIG Technician is to participate in the execution of the on-site T&C activities for the on-board and trackside CBTC Signaling system which comprises of the SIG Trackside (Object Controllers, Radio, Signals, Switches, Secondary Detection…), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), Automatic Train Operation (ATO) and Automatic Train Protection (ATP). In addition for this acctities, he/she will execute installation suppervision and support to the EI (Electrical Installer), Field Modifications (FMI) and PICO (Post Installation Check-outs).

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Execute testing and reporting activities consciously with safety, quality, and in a proper manner according to the Testing and Commissioning process and approved procedures,
      • Use the correct tools and equipment to perform the software, electrical and mechanical test activities. Ensure the equipment and tools are properly calibrated and well maintained,
      • Perform and provide preliminary investigations report on faults identified during the site testing,
      • Support the T&C Engineer/Lead in the consolidation of the tests records for officially submission to the customer,
      • Work closely with the T&C Engineer/Leader to conduct the necessary troubleshooting of systems and equipment in order to identify the root cause and integration issues,
      • Assist the T&C Engineer in charge in the identification, recording and traceability of non-conformities, defects, and other workmanship issues,
      • Provide daily progress report to the SIG T&C Leader,
      • Ensure the application of all EHS Golden rules (AZDP) during T&C activities.

      S/he reports to the SIG T&C Leader. Maintains a close relationship with the others members of the T&C community, product engineers, and T&C experts.

      Qualifications & Skills:

      EDUCATION

      • Technician degree/Higher National Certificate (or recognized equivalent) in relevant engineering field,

      TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE

      • Multidisciplinary and polyvalent (especially in mechanical and electrical),
      • Technical experience or expertise in Signaling systems,
      • Excellent trouble-shooting skills,
      • Strong IT skills and use of diagnostic software,
      • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and diagrams,
      • Previous experience in Engineering projects or test activities.

      • Good communication skills,
      • Organized person, reports consistently and in an objective way (daily logs, incidents, issues),

      Salary Range: $37 - $42 per hour
