Job Description
- Req#: 45266
- Operates state issued vehicles, transports residents of the Illinois Veteran’s Home on and off grounds appointments and delivers and retrieves personal medical items and laboratory specimens to off grounds facilities
- Performs safety and protection work by patrolling facility grounds and buildings to observe for security breaches and unsafe conditions
- Patrols facility grounds and buildings to observe for security breaches and unsafe conditions
- Performs preventative maintenance inspection on security vehicles and communications equipment
- Issues security related property to new and current staff
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school
- Working knowledge of security enforcement practices and techniques
- One (1) year experience using computer systems and software such as the Microsoft Suite or Word Processor to organize facts into activity and incident reports.
- Ability to complete security training and to follow written procedures and instructions.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program shall have the stated requirements of this classification waived by successful completion of specific proficiency tests and training programs
Preferred Qualifications
Work Hours: 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. - Rotating shift - every other weekend
