      The Salvation Army in Las Vegas, Nevada is looking to fill a fulltime Janitor position, located at our Las Vegas Citadel location. The successful candidates for these positions will have good time management skills, the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and complete assigned work efficiently. Both positions are benefit eligible and come with vacation, sick, health, vision, life insurance, and more.

      The Janitor position will perform routine and detailed cleaning duties for their facilities that are scheduled on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis. General Cleaning duties will include: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing and dusting all hard surface areas, bathrooms and shower areas. Detailed cleaning duties will include stripping, waxing and shampooing for floors/carpets, and scrubbing/painting for doors and walls. This person will maintain inventory of and advise on janitorial supply monthly orders. Other Duties will include keeping restroom supplies stocked, maintaining service & records for smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Valid Nevada State Driver’s License and clean driving record
      • Must be able to carry out duties without close supervision
      • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds as well as with a wide-range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner
      • Highly adaptable; thrives on challenges and excels in new environments
      • Should possess time management skills and be able to complete assigned tasks
      • Should be physically fit and be able to complete all assigned work efficiently
      • An understanding and acceptance of the Salvation Army’s mission, philosophy, and practices
      • Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

      Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.       While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
