Job Description
- Req#: 5718
- Process all necessary purchase orders for designated vendors.
- Maintain purchase orders/on hand inventory utilizing:
- 5 day-45 day need report
- Exceeding order report/Alert console
- SAS report
- Backorder report
- Discrepancy console
- RCs
- WAR board
- Work with internal departments (Sourcing, QC, 1st Piece, etc.) to ensure adequate part coverage.
- Analyze internal need and work with scheduling to avoid production/customer disruptions.
- Determine the most cost-effective option when purchasing materials to support production.

- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills preferred
- Experience with EDI/Vendor Portals helpful

Our JIS Team is seeking a Purchasing / Sourcing Specialist to join our team. The Associate has the responsibility to place and manage orders on a daily basis. This position is critical to the success of our sales division. The Associate works very closely with receiving, returns, and quality areas to ensure we have the right part at the right place at the right time. The Associate will also have the opportunity to seek, establish, and maintain supplier relationships, strive for the best quality at the lowest total cost, fully understand & respond to weaknesses in our supply chain. The Associate will be the primary contact with vendor for all contract negotiations, CAR's, potential sourcing of new parts/products and all things vendor related to Establish Mutual Trust, Mutual Respect with supplier.
In this fast paced and ever-changing environment, taking initiative, strong math skills, and the ability to anticipate and solve problems before they happen are essential to succeed in this position. The candidate must work well with a team of people who are committed to continuous improvement while ensuring the success of our organization.
Location: Jasper, Indiana (please note: during training, it may be required that you commute to our Leavenworth Facility for the first 6-8 weeks)
