Job summary
The Medical Workforce team offers a comprehensive service, from advertising vacancies to coordinating doctors in training and medical student programmes. The Medical Workforce team are responsible for the co-ordination of all HR matters in relation to medical and dental terms and conditions including recruitment, daily rostering, payroll, doctors in training rotations, medical student placements and the sourcing of bank and agency staff. This role will also provide basic and routine HR advice relating to national and local policy and processes.
The post holder will be working in an integrated skill mix team that includes a Head of Medical Workforce, Medical Workforce Advisors and Medical Workforce Co-Ordinator. The Job Planning and Medical Rostering Advisor will be the lead for the co-ordination and administration of both job planning and the medical rosters across the trust. This is an exciting opportunity to implement a number of technology solutions to enhance the daily working lives of our medical and dental workforce.
Main duties of the job
Job Planning:
- to co-ordinate the annual medical and dental job planning programme in collaboration with the Medical Director
- to ensure that all medical and dental colleagues are fully trained in the use of the electronic eJobPlan software
- to ensure that any changes made to job plans are implemented with payroll
- to attend the Job Planning Consistency Committee meetings as a representative for the Medical Workforce team
Rostering:
- to work closely with the Head of Medical Workforce in creating and allocating the doctors in training to the appropriate rosters for each junior doctor rotation.
- to ensure the most up to date rota templates are compliant within the eRota compliance software in-line with the national junior doctor contract.
- to oversee all medical and dental rotas including senior medics and dentists and in doing so, notify clinical managers when gaps arise, both short and long term, and liaise with the relevant Medical Workforce Advisor to ensure cover arrangements are put in place
