      About the role

We’re building a better ANZ for our customers today and in the future. The success of our Australia Retail business is dependent on having great people to deliver quality outcomes for our customers and bankers.

We are the Business Platform Services Tribe (BPS), one of four mega-tribes in the Digital Portfolio. Join us as we run and maintain services using the latest platforms and technology, to better support our customers’ financial wellbeing and improving the work experiences of our bankers.

We’re also the home of digital identity and customer authentication at ANZ. If you’re passionate about keeping our customers safe as they use our digital banking channels and are curious and focused on preventing and detecting fraud and scams, then working with us could be just what you’re looking for. If you’d like to build on diverse career experiences by being part of something different, then we’d love to hear from you.

As a Scrum Master, you are responsible for developing high-performing squads through promoting and supporting our New Ways of Working and Agile values, principles and practices. You will play an active role in helping the squad deliver, resolve issues or blockers and remove impediments. This may at times, mean leaning-in to pick up work and contribute to the delivery of the squad’s objectives. You’ll be embedded in a single squad or may work across multiple squads.

Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008
      Role Type: Permanent, Full-time

      What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

      • Experience in leading high-performing and diverse teams through regular, complex change

      • Guiding and coaching the squad to follow the NWOW/Agile/Scrum principles and practices that work best for the team, helping everyone understand the theory, practices, principles and values of Agile Delivery through servant leadership. This is achieved through the facilitation of key ceremonies, improving the flow of work, enabling delivery, removing impediments, improving transparency and helping foster a strong team culture

      • A passion for helping teams be successful and teaching others, that may have been developed from a Business Analyst or Project Management or similar roles

      • Rich experience working in an Agile / Scrum team and proficient in Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence

      • Extensive years of experience as a Scrum Master

      • Relevant industry recognised certification such as SAFe, Professional Scrum Master (PSM 1,2,3) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

      • A seasoned leader who can build professional capability and confidence in their team, commercially savvy, customer oriented, demonstrates humility and committed to making ANZ a ‘great place to grow’

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.

      So, why join us?

There’s something special about being part of ANZ. From the moment you join us, you’re part of a team working towards a common goal: improving the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

But it’s not just our customers who’ll feel your impact. You’ll feel it too. Because at ANZ, you’ll have the resources and community you need to take the next big step in your career, towards even bigger things in the future.

We offer a range of benefits tailored to the countries in which we operate including Health and Wellbeing programs and flexible working arrangements.

You’ll also enjoy working in a diverse and inclusive workplace where the different backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences of our people are celebrated. We encourage you to talk to us about any adjustments you may require to our recruitment process or the role itself. If you are a candidate with a disability, let us know how we can provide you with additional support.
