      Responsibilities:

      • The ideal candidate has demonstrated outstanding color grading technique alongside strong visual effects and editorial skills using Baselight and Da Vinci Resolve. This individual is well-versed in colorspace workflows, full timeline prep, grading, compositing, and rendering.
      • Responsible for all assigned color duties in the Color suite. Executes color correction for Marketing projects including but not limited to trailers, TV spots, social media spots, and GFX-related color finishing.
      • Ability to grade title graphics as well as show footage with a full range of primary and secondary color correction, including the ability to selectively grade individual elements within a graphic card, animation, or shot, while working with mattes.
      • Works directly with clients using personal creative ability to interpret the client’s intent for the look and feel of a project and supports the lead colorist with pre-grading as well as color support for all pipelines and workflows.
      • Prepares timelines for client sessions (conform and pre-grade, for example); liaises with Producers, Editors, other Colorists, and Graphic Artists beforehand to check elements to ensure accuracy and flag any technical concerns.
      • Preparation of timelines for other color staff.
      • Performs post session follow-up such as assessment of work orders and completes any necessary revisions, as well as creation and QC of final deliverable renders.
      • Works with Scheduling and Operations to assess and fulfill the needs of the clients.
      • Fills out all work orders and reports for assigned projects.
      • Responsible for setting / adhering to client or department specific color science workflows
      • Uses back-end color expertise to work closely with the GFX / VFX teams to follow and create efficient and high quality GFX and imagery throughout the entire finishing process
      • Other duties as required.

      Required Skills:

      • 3+ years of experience in color correction at a professional post production finishing house.
      • Technical knowledge of color correction platforms - specifically Baselight and Resolve, as well as 2D/3D DI and monitor grading. Prior knowledge and experience with HDR grading a necessity. Ability to work with various file types (EXR, DPX, TIFF, ProRes etc), in various color spaces, as well as an understanding of color science and ACES color workflows a requirement.
      • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interface with high-profile clients and internal staff regularly and maintain excellent working relationships.
      • Must be able to maintain flexible schedule to meet production requirements; ability to work long hours as needed; ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
      • Must be able to work independently as well as as part of a team or under supervision. Able to apply creative license to work as well as take over other colorists projects when necessary and maintain the creative intentions for those projects.
      • Ability to focus for long periods of time, excellent visual acuity.
      • Work well under pressure, deadline and detail oriented.
      • Team based and has the ability to step in and put forth the extra effort to get the project over the finish line

      Preferred Skills:

      • Experience with After Effects, Maya, Flame or Nuke all a plus.

      The listed pay range is the salary or hourly wage range that we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to background, skills, experience, education, geographic location, and market demands.
