      JOB SUMMARY

      The Jr. Financial Analyst provides support to the Finance Team in the way of financial reporting, grant accounting, attendance and other program reporting. Theyu00A0 support the Regional Finance Directors for Aspireu2019s three regions: Los Angeles, Bay Area, and Central Valley, as well as other ad hoc projects with the Finance Team. They will utilize multiple platforms and software to compile reporting data and complete journal entries.



      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

      u00A0

      • Support the Regional Finance Directors and/or the Sr. Financial Analyst with reporting activities to comply with local, state, and federal reporting deadlines on a monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis, including performing accounting reclassifications
      • Monitor grant apportionment/spending and perform accounting reclassifications to ensure maximization of use of restricted funding for all schools.
      • Evaluate, track and report on Aspireu2019s attendance and enrollment with the support of Finance Team and Operations team members.
      • Evaluate, track and report on Aspireu2019s food and nutrition program for all schools on a month basis.
      • Analyze and reconcile SBu00A0 740 facilities related funding several times throughout the yearu00A0
      • Assist in upkeep of current budget projections data on Workday Adaptive Planning.
      • Perform ad hoc financial analyses as requested by the Chief Financial Officer, Regional Finance Directors, Regional School Leaders, and Principals.
      • Provide support to the Chief Financial Officer and Regional Finance Directors on special projects as assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Competencies:
      • Basic to moderate knowledge of accounting and FP&A principles, ideally K-12 and/or Non-Profit
      • Ability to gather and analyze data in order to produce reports and make improvement recommendations
      • Strong skills pertaining to MS Excel including common formulas, financial modeling, and familiarity with accounting software
      • Experience with and/or ability to learn Adaptive Planning budgeting & forecasting software, Tableau, MIP accounting software, and other software packages
      • Excellent organizational, time management and follow-up skills; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines under pressureu00A0
      • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracyu00A0
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skillsu00A0
      • Excellent financial and analytical skills; strong attention to detailu00A0
      • Proficiency with multiple accounting software packages and/or flexibility to learn new packages

      Minimum educational level:
      • Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or Finance
      Experience required:
      • 1-2 years accounting and/or financial analysis experience a plus
      • Experience in K-12 public education accounting and/or not-for-profit accounting a plus
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; fluency in Microsoft Excel
      • Proficiency with budgeting, reporting, and accounting systems
      Physical requirements: u00A0
      • Stand, walk or bend over, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, and pull. Move, lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds to shoulder height
      • Repetitive use of hands (i.e. fine manipulation, simple grasping, and power grasping)

      • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, operate standard office equipment, and use a telephone
