- Knowledge of the Linux Operating System via Command line to support Cisco network device configuration, updates, and backups
- Conduct day-to-day system administration of the hardware and software for a modeling and simulation (M&S) system
- Supports building, configuring, and troubleshooting software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure up-grades
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with Network Engineers
- Experience creating network diagrams and proficiency with Microsoft Visio
- Operations support: Five days a week, providing daily support for development and operation assets and willing to travel (domestic and foreign sites approximately 25%)
- Certifications: Candidates must comply with the experience, training, and certification requirements for IAT-II level certification such as Security+ CE. Higher-level IAT-II certifications, such as CCNA, will also fulfill this requirement.
- Experience: 2-5 years of relevant network engineering experience (installation and configuration of any levels of network devices, such as firewalls, switches, routers, cabling)
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience and certifications will also be considered.
- Security Clearance: Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Motivated, has attention to detail and takes initiative.
- Best practices, and implementation of installation, configuration of Palo Alto Next gen firewalls and Panorama
- Knowledge of multicast / unicast traffic flow
- Understanding of GM and Theater message flow
- Cisco design and best practices
- Understand Ports, Protocols, and Services Management and Category Assurance List workflows

Overview
i3 is seeking a Jr. Network Engineer to provide technical support on an Army contract support the CCDC AvMC. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.
