    • Must have a minimum of 10 years of satisfactory military service (retired, non-retired, veteran) and have a military grade of E6-E9 or O3-O6

    • Holds a minimum of an associate degree

    • Must hold or be eligible for a Permit issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission

    • In addition, all JROTC candidates must be screened and certified by the specific branch (Air Force) of the JROTC program office before being hired

    • Aligning instructional practices to optimize learning outcomes and direct operational activities of the high school JROTC Department

    • Responsible for the overall management of the JROTC unit and formulates, establishes, and executes procedures to be used in the instruction, administration, operations, and logistics of the JROTC Program.

    • Ensures that the JROTC Program is administered per law and US Air Force Cadet Command regulations

    • Conduct risk assessments to mitigate the possibility of an accident for all activities and observe and enforce service.

    • Responsible for all facets of the JROTC program including teaching, activities and competitions.

    • Assess student achievement to inform instructional decisions and create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

    • Represent the school system positively in public relations and collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies.

    • Exhibit professionalism, adhere to professional ethics, and fulfill responsibilities including providing relevant learning experiences and maintaining a respectful environment.

    • Engage students in active learning using research-based methods, support individual learning differences, and utilize diverse assessment strategies to measure progress accurately.

    • Analyze data to inform instructional content and provide timely feedback to students and parents, fostering student-centered and self-directed learning behaviors.

    • Uphold professional standards, contribute to professional growth, and support the school's mission through effective communication and participation in professional development practices.

    • Provides appropriate instruction; communicates responsibly with all individuals and groups; assumes a fair share of outside-the-classroom school responsibilities; maintains plans according to policies and/or directives; promotes the responsible use of materials and equipment; submits accurate paperwork on schedule; prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent.

      Primary Job Goal:

      Ensure college and career readiness for all students by implementing a comprehensive approach that integrates state and local curriculum, aligns instructional practices, assesses student achievement, fosters a safe and conducive learning environment, documents teaching and student progress, addresses specific educational needs and provides feedback to students, parents, and administration.

      Performance Duties & Responsibilities:

      Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met.

      Working Environment:

      The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

      Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 80% walking, 10% lifting/carrying, and 80% standing.
