      Job summary

      We are looking for a Doctor who is motivated, enthusiastic and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work with a complex range of clients in a sexual health and HIV service setting.

      The successful applicant work in a 12 month fixed term rotational post for 6 months in John Hunter Clinic for Sexual Health followed by 6 months on our main HIV inpatient ward Ron Johnson

      You will also cover our HIV Day care unit which is a tertiary referral centre for HIV oncology.

      The post also includes an on call commitment as part of the HIV Inpatients/HIV Day-care team and a banding supplement is payable in addition to basic salary.

      Working flexibly the post holder will ensure that they provide a gold standard, patient focused service at all times.

      We have a full in-house Audit and Education programme which the successful applicant is expected to take a keen interest in.

      *The post holder will work a 40 hour week and participate in an on call Rota at a frequency of 1 in 5Please note on calls are in the evenings and weekends (no night shifts)

      Main duties of the job

      HIV - The Doctor will work for six months under supervision of seniors investigating, diagnosing and treating HIV infection, hepatitis B and C co-infected patients and other conditions associated with these infections as well as appropriate onward patient referrals and discharge summaries.

      GUM - The doctor will then work for six months in GUM OPD at John Hunter Clinic, St Stephens Centre, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital under supervision of seniors investigating, diagnosing and treating STI and other conditions associated with sexual problems as well as appropriate onward patient referrals and discharge summaries.

      The Doctor will also be responsible for checking and acting on laboratory and radiology results and discussion of these results with senior medical staff as appropriate.

      The post holder will be encouraged to do audit, research, attend teaching and teach.

      • Cardiac catheter service and a paediatric assessment unit on the West Middlesex site
      • Surgical assessment unit on the Chelsea site
      • New sexual health clinic at 10 Hammersmith Broadway
      • Virtual fracture clinics
      • Learning disabilities passports

      Plans are in place for a £30 million expansion to critical care facilities and refurbishment of the children's unit at West Middlesex, both in partnership with the Trust's dedicated charity CW+.

      We will look to continuously improve the quality of care and patient experience through the most efficient use of available resources.
