Job summary
Fixed Term: 6 months | 10 PAs
We're looking for a Junior Clinical Fellow to join the Paediatric Emergency Department at Sheffield Children's - a dedicated Major Trauma Centre. This post offers hands-on experience managing different paediatric emergency presentations and is suited to those pursuing careers in emergency medicine, paediatrics, or general practice.
Our Emergency Department provides care for children under 16 years old, seeing over 58,000 new patients annually. With 24/7 middle-grade cover and daily consultant presence from 8am to midnight, the department manages a full spectrum of emergency conditions--approximately 60% trauma and 40% medical cases. Adjacent to the department is a 24-hour Acute Assessment Unit designed to reduce admissions through short-term investigation and observation.
The department is supported by ENPs, a GP-led primary care stream during evenings and weekends, and daily consultant- and nurse-led clinics.
