      Job Title: Junior Electrical Estimator

      Job Description

      We are seeking a Junior / Assistant Electrical Estimator with Project Management Skills to join our dynamic team. This dual-role focuses on managing electrical projects and assisting with estimation duties. The ideal candidate will have experience or education in the electrical field, a passion for detail-oriented work, and the ability to manage projects from bid preparation to execution.

      Responsibilities

      • Attend pre-bid and negotiated job meetings to gain insight prior to pricing.
      • Review project specifications and perform detailed material takeoffs.
      • Analyze project requirements and highlight potential problem areas.
      • Assemble and prepare bid documents and project quotes, ensuring accuracy.
      • Review project contracts, identifying objectionable language or clauses.
      • Estimate project quantities and costs using estimating software, Accubid & ConEst.
      • Prepare and manage comprehensive bid packages for electrical projects.
      • Perform quantity take-offs and develop proposals for electrical construction.
      • Engage with suppliers for material, switchgear, and lighting quotes, ensuring accurate pricing.
      • Contact and establish relationships with new and existing clients, including builders and developers, to identify new project opportunities and proactively follow up on bid submissions.
      • Meet with clients, attend site walk-throughs, and participate in pre-bid visits to ensure thorough understanding of project scope.
      • Continuously track the progress of bid projects and forecast future project awards and probabilities.
      • Coordinate project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets are adhered to.
      • Implement cost control measures to maintain project profitability.
      • Communicate with clients to define project scope, address deficiencies, and negotiate pricing to ensure a clear understanding of the work.
      • Perform necessary research to produce accurate, competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
      • Manage project timelines, ensuring coordination with all stakeholders and timely completion of deliverables.

      Essential Skills

      • Experience or education in the electrical field.
      • Strong communication and organizational skills.
      • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
      • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
      • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and team members.
      • Experience with estimation, project management, bidding, and electrical construction.
      • Proficiency in Accubid and ConEst estimating software, Microsoft Excel & Word.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Knowledge of the electrical field preferred; degree in construction management or electrical engineering is advantageous.
      • Electrician License (E1/E2) is preferred but not required.
      • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, take-offs, and buyouts.
      • Willingness to assist the estimators and learn the job.


      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/hr.
