Provides engineering and in‐service technical support specifically in AN/ALE‐47 Countermeasures Dispensing Set (CMDS) avionics software and hardware components.
Plans and coordinates feasibility studies that result in extensive design modifications to avionics components and software. The objectives of these studies may be to find means of improving performance, increasing capacity, or correcting unsatisfactory conditions.
Assists SE Engineer with testing and troubleshooting of ALE-47 CMDS.
Assists ALE-47 Teams with NAVY Technical Directives (TD), and reviewing, managing, and cataloging engineering drawings.
Assists ALE-47 FMS Teams with review and tracking of Foreign Disclosure Office (FDO) documentation in support of FMS Strike and Assault MDF projects.
Assists CM/Logistics team with data collection, writing and coordination of technical data for ECP and TD generation.
Reviews technical and engineering data.
Reviews technical and engineering publications.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer engineering from an ABET accredited college or university in addition to 0-2 years of experience. This is an Entry Level type engineering position.
Must demonstrate a strong technical background, and be able to demonstrate skills with Microsoft Office suites, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
Experience or training with computer language software a plus (e.g., 8051 assembly language, ADA, C, C++, and/or Python).
Familiar with hardware system component BIT (Built In Test) parameters. The preferred candidate will have knowledge of MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-485 interfaces.
Familiar with Real-time Applications, serial bus communication, wiring/schematic diagrams.
Professional knowledge of electronics engineering concepts, principles, methods, techniques, and standard engineering practices to perform engineering assignments complex CMDS engineering software projects.
Knowledge of mathematical and statistical techniques to perform and interpret calculations, analyses, and computations for unfamiliar factors or relationships primarily in matters of a factual nature or involving well-understood mechanisms.
Knowledge of computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs to interpret or perform design and drafting assignments, as well as utilize computer applications in support of planning, analysis, and project reporting.
Ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, apply electronics engineering practices and procedures to a variety of conventional situations and recognize viable solutions.
Ability to articulate information clearly through various venues such as discussions, meetings, fact sheets, reports, design documentation, briefings, and presentations.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
