      Energy Aspects is seeking a Houston-based Junior Energy Market Analyst to join our growing global team. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your analytics career by contributing to a well-respected and rapidly growing energy market research consultancy.

      As a passionate energy market analyst, you will play a central role in producing our service offerings, distilling complex data into actionable views, and making confident calls on rapidly changing markets. These responsibilities will span the full cycle of our work, from monitoring market developments to helping maintain our supply/demand/pricing models to writing concise analysis.

      This position will require flexibility and the drive to do excellent work within the scope of a larger team. All team members are encouraged to build their professional reputation and are supported by some of the most well-regarded voices in the energy sector. You must be able to work independently as well as be capable of planning and prioritising your tasks to achieve success.       Duties

      • Collect datasets, highlight key changes in the data, and provide insights on how these affect short-term market balances.
      • Produce relevant and insightful research and models that help inform our fundamental outlooks and client-facing views.
      • Provide commentary on market movements in regular publications and ad hoc alerts.
      • Analyse earnings reports (10Ks/Q2s) from upstream and midstream companies while reviewing their financial performance.
      • Keep up to date on the latest developments in energy markets, including key changes to supply, demand, inventories and prices.
      • Build and maintain strong internal and external professional networks.


      Requirements

      • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics or a related field.
      • Strong MS Excel skills. Programming skills are preferred (such as Python, SQL and Power BI).
      • The ability to communicate market views clearly and concisely to clients in English (written and verbal).
      • A strong eye for detail and the drive to ensure published content is client ready and follows the company’s ethos.
      • The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with others, including colleagues in different time zones, to deliver timely analysis.
