- Preparing materials for quarterly valuation governance meetings, ensuring timely submissions of materials and documentation of outcomes
- Coordination of reporting packages for reserving committees and senior management in support of the ECL result
- Maintainance and coordination of updates to relevant governance policies
- Support implementation and on-going improvement of reporting and analytics tools that attribute the primary drivers of valuation and ECL results
- Assist in coordinating ECL process by liaising with cross functional teams to ensure timely delivery of data and process enhancements
- Support for various AM Finance initiatives
- Establishing strong link between valuations and ECL processes, understanding and verifying accounting impacts
- Assist in developing process and procedural documentation
- University degree; preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business
- Understanding of financial products, asset classes and financial markets
- Strong team player, ability to work in agile environment and collaborate with cross function teams
- Knowledge of MS Office suite
- Comfortable working with large data sets in Excel
- Strong PowerPoint and communication skills
We are looking for a junior financial analyst to contribute across multiple finance mandates at Swiss Re. This role will provide you with the opportunity to interact with a variety of teams across Finance, Risk and Asset Management!
About the Role
This role requires a strong desire and intellectual curiosity to learn from multiple functions within Asset Management (AM) Finance, and the broader AM organization. Over-time developing a keen understanding of the valuation and reserving landscape, (including regulatory and accounting standards,) and aide as subject matter expert within the organization.
You will support valuation governance across multiple asset classes, assist in reporting of Expect Credit Loss (ECL) results under IFRS 9, and collaborate with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) colleagues over strategic initiatives to enhance, and simplify existing business and financial reporting processes.

We, the Asset Management (AM) Finance team, lead and facilitate all financial matters related to Swiss Re Group’s investments. Working closely together within the team, we deepen the understanding of the end-to-end investment value chain. We are a global team of finance professionals that interact with a broad range of counterparts. For New York City the estimated base salary range for this position is $52,000 to $90,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
