  The Deloitte Software Group (“DSG”) is responsible for leading the strategic design and execution of a critical pillar in Deloitte's transformation agenda - software enablement to help our clients shape their future, using technology as a driving force. The strategy is focused on identifying, selecting, and developing technology asset investments ("Asset Transformation Strategy”) that deepen client relationships whilst complementing the services Deloitte delivers to clients and driving a technology-led transformation of our business through software-enables services.

  As part of the DSG, the A&A Analytics & Platform Engineering team is at the heart of the Asset Transformation Strategy across Deloitte Asia Pacific. With a unique blend of data technologists, designers, developers, and management consultants, we are a powerhouse committed to delivering next generation solutions to all A&A clients through our proprietary Big Data Platform. Our platform serves thousands of clients, engagements and users, it processes billions or records across hundreds of solutions both in Australia and Asia Pacific. This is an exciting opportunity to supercharge our innovation with Data Driven Apps infused with Generative AI. As a Junior Engineer, you will be part of Deloitte's global asset community, a group of highly skilled and passionate professionals committed to transforming our business and our clients' business.

  What will your typical day look like?

  We are looking for an innovative and passionate junior engineer in our Analytics & Platform Engineering team to design, build and optimise data applications. You will apply structured problem solving, effective time management, and provide junior team members with support and guidance needed to deliver high quality outcomes. The role involves:

  • Designing, building and optimising our cloud analytics platform including new user interfaces, data process automation and APIs
  • Building new Data, ML and Generative AI driven apps from idea to production
  • Helping make decisions about our feature pipeline and the direction of the platform and hosted apps
  • Work closely with the analytics and data scientist team in facilitating the integration of analytical solutions into the platform (including data lake, pipelines, ML models, and reports/visualisations)
  • Involvement in identifying trends and innovation in .NET and React development and related technologies to inform the future development of solutions for our clients and evolve our cloud data platform.

  
  Enough about us, let's talk about you. You’re someone with…

  • 1-2 years' work experience as a full stack engineer
  • Hands on experience with React JS (or any JS framework), C# .NET Core / Python, SQL/Document/Vector DBs and Azure services
  • Proficient in building/consuming APIs
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Test-Driven development
  • Strong technical abilities to understand, solution design, write and debug complex code
  • A strong sense of ownership of outcomes with the drive to self-start and take initiative
  • Ability to independently manage competing priorities within tight time frames
  • Enthusiasm for creating proof of concepts around any new ideas or technology
  • Exposure with the following is an advantage:
    • Cloud technologies (Azure preferred), Docker, Kubernetes and open-source technologies in Data or platform engineering
    • Building Flask or other apps in Python
    • Integrating DataViz solutions (Tableau or Power BI and Plotly Dash) is an advantage
    • Handling large data volumes with Python and working with data manipulation libraries
    • Other technologies that will be relevant include: Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, Databricks, Spark.
