Job Description

- Support the game vision, as established by the Creative Director(s) and stakeholders.
- Work with senior and lead designers, as part of the design team, to implement gameplay features from paper design to final implementation.
- Work with the design team to create design-related documents that provide clear and detailed feature breakdowns and product status to other teams.
- Collaborate as a member of the design team across all areas of games design production, such as documentation, game system design and level design.
- Follow studio best practice in all aspects of work and accept and act on feedback.
- Demonstratable game development experience and/or 3rd-level qualification in game design or a similar field.
- Strong game design portfolio demonstrating competency in level design and scripting/blueprints.
- Long-standing passion for playing games of multiple genres.
- Good understanding of game design principles, with an ability to analyse and dissect games and their mechanics.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English, while also being comfortable on video calls
- Experience working in a design capacity on a published video game (mods for existing games also applicable).
- Unreal Engine 5 knowledge in level design, blueprints and other Unreal systems. This should be demonstrated in your portfolio.
- Completion of any official Unreal training programs.

Location: Dublin,County Dublin,Ireland
Black Shamrock is seeking a Junior Game Designer to join our Dublin team and work on a variety of exciting projects, collaborating with teams across the globe.
Candidates will need to demonstrate experience in the field of game design, as well as a strong aptitude for critical thinking and analysis. They will be expected to contribute across the game design process while improving their own skill set under the mentorship of senior staff.
Our ideal candidate has a high level of enthusiasm for creating games content and the ability to share this enthusiasm and contribute as part of a team.
Successful candidates will also need to show a strong passion for games across many genres.
