      Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.       What you'll be doing
      The key purpose of the position is to provide expert advice, oversight, and coordination of all activities associated with Junior Medical Officers (interns and residents) including recruitment, payroll, term allocations, and all aspects of rostering.


      The position will manage the RSU’s interaction and communications with Junior Medical officers ensuring timely and accurate advice and action. The position holder is responsible for workforce management of JMOs, and other medical officers as required, such as recruitment, orientation, term allocations, rostering, leave management, human resource management, managing grievances and complaints involving junior medical officers and Work Health and Safety needs are met in line with budget allocations, relevant award and award/ college requirements for safe work hours. The position liaises closely with RSU Operations Manager and Medical Administration to highlight service delivery challenges and assist in the development of solutions.

      Selection Criteria:

      1. Excellent leadership and management skills in relation to medical staff demonstrated through successful practice in current and previous roles involving high level communication and interpersonal skills, complex decision making, negotiation, change and conflict management.
      2. Excellent knowledge of and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the Industrial Awards, Agreements, Determinations and other policy and/or legislative instruments governing the employment of JMOs and CMOs in New South Wales.
      3. Working knowledge of ROB and recruitment practices
      4. Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of JMO workforce rostering taking into account service requirements, education and training needs, operational efficiencies and award provisions, experience in undertaking or managing the preparation of rosters and ability to review rosters.
      5. Demonstrated commitment to a high level of customer service, innovation and continuous improvement for workforce management policies, procedures, systems and practice.
      6. Demonstrated ability to manage staff and budgets.
      7. High level ability in the use of Microsoft Office products and management and decision support IT systems and applications for medical and other workforce management, including rostering systems.
      8. Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
