      Job Description:

      Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Online Education Division of Pre-College, Online, and Professional Programs, the Junior Online Course Developer is responsible for revising instructor-led graduate and undergraduate courses for Berklee Online, the online extension school of the college. The Junior Online Course Developer is responsible for revision of existing online courses in collaboration with course authors and other course development staff, including software developers, video producers, graphic designers, copyeditors, music notation specialists, and others. The Junior Online Course Developer will also revise and develop multimedia learning interactions in the custom-designed Canvas learning platform.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Work on revising multiple courses at a time within a six-month timeframe.
      • Develop project management schedules and processes to aid in effectively managing author deliverables and resources to ensure the timely completion of course revisions.
      • Identify ways to enhance learning through multimedia such as visuals, animation, music, and interactions in Berklee Online’s content management system, and other technologies as necessary.
      • Work with the Dean of Pre-College, Online, and Professional Programs, Senior Director of Online Education, faculty, course developers, software developers, graphic designers, editors, student workers, and others to revise courses and related materials for online delivery.

      Knowledge and Skills Required

      • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required. Master’s degree in instructional design or related field preferred.
      • At least one year experience in course development in an online learning environment.
      • A strong musical background.
      • A solid understanding of web and mobile technologies, a background in instructional design, education, and/or learning theory.
      • Multifaceted production experience in an online education, training, or digital media environment, including experience designing and developing courses using HTML5, video, and graphics.
      • Familiarity with learning management systems, preferably Canvas.
      • Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to maintain high levels of creativity and quality.
      • Some experience working with subject matter experts to develop content.
      • Experience with academic institutions and adult learners.
      • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously with great efficiency and attention to detail.
      • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced atmosphere with high standards for quality, accuracy, and innovation.
