      Junior Professional Associates – Program Description
      The Junior Professionals Associate Program (JPA) offers an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to embark on a professional journey, providing a three-year contract with valuable work experience within a diverse and dynamic environment and the potential of field work experience. The program is an excellent platform to sharpen your existing skills and to develop new ones, all while gaining a profound understanding of the challenges associated with reducing poverty and fostering shared prosperity on a livable planet.

      The following are minimum requirements to be eligible for the JPA program:
      • Be 32 years of age or younger
      • Hold a bachelor’s degree
      • Be fluent in English
      The JPA program at the World Bank is a highly competitive initiative.       Specific Unit Description – MIGA Finance and Risk Department (MIGFR)
      The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA or the Agency) is a member of the World Bank Group, and our mission is to promote foreign direct investment into developing countries to help end extreme poverty and boost share prosperity. We do that through the provision of political risk insurance and credit enhancement to investors and lenders against losses caused by noncommercial risks. For more information, visit www.miga.org .
      The MIGA Finance and Risk Department (MIGFR) oversees MIGA’s financial integrity, income sustainability, and balance sheet strength and is responsible for overseeing the agency’s accounting and related financial control functions; overseeing the integrated risk management program including its strategy, monitoring, and reporting; providing reinsurance for underwriting activity, analytical support for portfolio risk management and pricing, managing relationships with counterparties and brokers and monitoring their status; overseeing the management of resources available to MIGA; overseeing all information technology (IT) initiatives in MIGA.

      Duties and Responsibilities
      The selected candidate will focus on supporting a wide range of work programs across the MIGFR teams including the Director to prioritize and implement various initiatives.
      • Support the development of MIGFR’s implementation plans for key initiatives.
      • Contribute to data analysis to help generate ideas for MIGFR’s new projects and processes.
      • Produce regular reports on the assigned project including monitoring progress against pre-determined milestones.
      • Participate in preparing presentations and materials for various internal committees of MIGA/MIGFR.
      • Support the coordination of different MIGFR teams’ operations and activities.

      Selection Criteria

      • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Data Science or related discipline.
      • Experience in financial controls, accounting, financial risk management, investments, and/or relevant field would be preferred.
      • Good understanding of the MIGA’s business is a plus.
      • Technology savvy professional, with a passion for global development.
      • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality outputs while working under pressure and within tight time schedules.
      • Strong organizational, research, and oral presentation skills.
      • Proven ability to work in a team and intercultural environment, with minimal supervision.
      • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
