      Overview of Role

      As (Junior) Risk Officer within the Risk Department of Rothschild & Co Wealth Management Switzerland, you will join a team of seasoned risk professionals, with the aim to become a partner to the businesses and functions. Together, we support growth and profitability of the Bank and help retaining the appropriate risk management discipline to achieve the Bank’s strategic goals. Through your support of the other team members, you will gain insight across all risk practices and with growing experience become able to gradually take on additional responsibility.

      Responsibilities

      • Conduct regular process monitoring and control through daily, weekly and monthly evaluations to ensure smooth operations
      • Perform regular risk controls independently or with support of more senior team members to ensure the adherence to the risk framework (Execution-Only, Discretionary, adherence to Trainings etc.)
      • Support the administration of the internal operational risk tool and the annual roll-out of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
      • Maintain adherence to policies across various accounts, ensuring compliance and fostering integrity
      • Support the team in creating reports and visual summaries of risk data for internal stakeholders
      • Support the more senior team members to log and analyze risk-related incidents or near misses, supporting follow-up actions
      • Support of the more senior team members in various other tasks (e.g., regular reports, projects, ad-hoc requests etc.)

      Education and Qualifications

      • Bank apprenticeship or commercial employee diploma
      • Fully computer literate (MS Office, especially in Excel and Power Point)
      • Avaloq user experience would be an additional asset

      Experience, Skills and Competencies Required

      • First experience in the financial service industry e.g. experience in banking support services such as: back office, middle office, accounting, risk management or internal audit
      • Well-developed analytical skills to rapidly understand business situations and requirements
      • Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the Bank
      • Patience and flexibility, alongside being prepared to take on more basic tasks as required
      • Independent work style, self-starter and a reliable personality
      • Fluent in English and German, other languages (French, Spanish, Italian) are considered a plus
