      What will you do?

      The purpose of this role is to provide our clients with Group Risk quotations for new business and to provide quotations for benefit amendments for existing Group Risk clients. The purpose of the role is also to be responsible for the growth. Review risk rates for existing clients concerning group risk products, taking any changes in risk profile, experience and other relevant information into account whilst targeting a specified profit margin and expense charge.

      What will make you successful in this role?

      Obtains and analyses relevant information, premiums and claims for a specified period to perform accurate rate calculation
      Ensure all reviews are finalized within the agreed turnaround times and allocated timeframes
      Ensure that legislative requirements are met
      Ensure that all authorization requirements are met in respect of reviews. A review with an annual premium greater than N$3.5 million should be discussed with an authorized person (Senior Risk Specialist)
      Updating the systems with the latest revisions information
      Drafting of scheme review letters to clients
      Adhering to service and quality standards
      Ensure all work is accurate and delivered on a professional level
      Constantly upskill yourself in our products as that will impact on the decisions you make when revising the risk rates of existing clients
      Constantly be on the lookout to improve/optimize internal processes
      Contribute towards reducing departmental operating costs
      Keep up to date with changes in the business, department, industry, and legislature
      Work together with consultants to support client retention via excellent customer service and maintaining excellent client and broker relationships
      Be a Sanlam brand ambassador through collaboration and professional client liaison
      Calculation and evaluation of Group Risk rates for prospective new business and existing business with regards to Group Risk products
      Analyse and investigate relevant information to perform accurate rating calculations
      Evaluate the risk and apply sound judgement to set the final rates, Medical free cover limit and the relevant terms and conditions
      Compilation of Risk Quotation presentations to clients on new and existing benefit amendment quotations
      Provide quality service to clients/intermediaries – a passion for service excellence
      Establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
      Analyze and investigate any exceptions regarding risk products or processes when dealing with new and existing clients
      Complete implementation process of risk benefits on Employer (Scheme) Level after verification of acceptance documentation and quotes
      Adhere to Client’s needs and expectation before finalizing the full risk benefit structure linked to each client
      Verify scheme risk benefit structure on operating system as part of the Implementation process
      Testing processes of risk benefit cover and risk rates on member level before doing bulk upload of members
      Resolve problems identified through testing of data including benefit & cost structure on member level taking the Rules/ Policies and business concessions into account
      The management of service level agreements of tasks which were allocated and the responsibility to keep all stakeholders informed as required
      Deliver work of high quality and quantity

      Qualification and Experience

      Grade 12 with Mathematics (minimum C symbol with regards to Mathematics – not Mathematics literacy & Accounting)
      Diploma in Business Administration or in Commerce qualification or Management is highly recommended
      A minimum of 1 or more years’ experience in a Group Risk environment with experience in a Group Risk pricing division such as a Group Risk Revisions or Group Risk Tenders team a definite requirement

      Knowledge and Skills

      Excellent product knowledge and understanding of the Group Risk Industry and Pricing principles
      Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Teams)
      Excellent analytical thinking with regards to identifying, analysing, and solving problems
      Overall good knowledge of the financial services industry and group risk insurance
      Good understanding of the different group risk benefit insurance available to Employers for their employees
      Sound knowledge of products, processes, and services in the Group Risk environment
      Good understanding of IT systems
      Understanding of Sanlam Group Risk Policies, Fund Rules, different Risk Products, and legislation linked to the implementation process

      Turnaround time
