      Overview

      Performs day-to-day and period end accounting, general ledger and reporting duties. Prepares reconciliations using the Blackline Reconciliation solution

      Responsibilities

      • With management oversight, prepares daily Federal Reserve Bank reconciliation.
      • Prepares and/or posts GL journal entries daily.
      • Reconciles all daily non-post activity relating to all the core applications.
      • Performs the daily correction of FMS GL non-post transactions through the core system.
      • Prepares the SBA daily funding for movement to the DDA custodial account for sold SBA loans.
      • Responsible for the daily verification of activity that flows to RNT related to DDM deposits.
      • With minimal management oversight, performs various month-end accounting activities. Generates journal entries, analyzes activity for accuracy/reasonableness and prepares GL account reconciliations.
      • Responsible for preparing journal entries to electronic transactions processed through the bank intercompany expense control account. Verifies that all expenses have proper approval before requesting approval of clearing entry.
      • Responsible as the contact point with Qwickrate depositors. Responds to deposit inquiries and monitors related GL accounts.
      • Responsible for recordation of purchase/sale activity in the Reportfolio accounting system related to investments and borrowings. Reconciles investment and borrowing related groups in Blackline.
      • Acts as backup for the daily and monthly activity related to fixed asset accounting including processing of asset additions, disposals and depreciation. In conjunction with management, determines proper accounting and tax treatment of new asset purchases. Prepares a monthly roll-forward of fixed asset activity.
      • Performs (or acts as backup) for the weekly FR-2900 report, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information filed, as well as other reports as requested by management.
      • Prepares (or acts as backup) and remits daily, weekly and monthly sales & use and withholding tax payments. Calculates sales tax on rental income and ensures accuracy and timeliness of information filed.
      • Maintains accounting department files and records.
      • Assists with special accounting projects as needed.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration with up to two years of related experience preferred.
      • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts.
      • Proficiency in excel and preferred experience with core systems.
      • Acute attention to detail.
      • Strong organizational skills.
      • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
      • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
