      Job Summary

      This position supports the design, development, delivery, and life cycle support of Radar Data Processing systems, with a focus on Software design and coding.

      Key Accountabilities:

      • Assist in requirements analysis and specification writing and management
      • Assist in the analysis, development and implementation of software solutions for new requirements and deficiencies
      • Assist in testing, validation and certification
      • Assist in the development of technical documentation to support system rollout

      Education:

      Degree from a recognized university, preferably in computer science or system engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and extensive experience

      Experience:

      • Experience with system documentation and working with clients to gather requirements/design specs
      • Experience in identifying system hardware and software deficiencies and implementing effective solutions.
      • Experience in object-oriented software development or maintenance using C/C++ on Linux/Unix operating systems

      Knowledge

      • Knowledge of programming, particularly in the areas of user interface, network communications, file and device I / O, data structure, task scheduling multi-threading, using operating system application interfaces and libraries
        • Knowledge of network principles and/or programming using TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP and multicast communication standards and protocols.
        • Knowledge of available test methodologies and tools
        • Knowledge of Linux operating systems
        • Knowledge of NAV CANADA’s role in operating Canada’s Air Navigation System

      Abilities:

      • Ability to troubleshoot, solve complex problems and to define & implement practical solutions
      • Ability to set priorities, to adapt to changing priorities, to work under minimal supervision, to work
      • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

      Flexible work arrangements (Onsite, Flex onsite or Hybrid):

      • This position is based at Ottawa TSC but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
