- Working under direction, underwrite and analyse new and renewal business within delegated authority levels of highly complex assignments.
- Willingness to take on new tasks, learn new skillsets
- Administer and monitor underwriting Guidelines whilst complying with insurance laws and Regulations and pricing manuals
- Develop, maintain & collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business-related needs, as appropriate.
- Work closely with the Risk Engineering/Claims and Customer Teams as required
- Work with the Finance function and support the financial processing, premium collection, whenever required
- Develop relationships with cedants & brokers in support of business retention and acquisition and provide solutions for their insurance related needs
- Complete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities
- Qualify accounts to meet with the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
- Learn to Negotiate Terms & Conditions and close deals.
- Cross-Sell other lines of business to increase product density with the account.
- Handle & review large/complex underwriting submissions and annual underwriting reviews.
- Represent Zurich at Internal and external events
- Accredited degree or similar Insurance qualifications
- Experience of working for Insurer/Reinsurer on Fine Art & Specie business (or similar technical lines)- preferably based in the UK already.
- Experience working in multicultural/international environment
- Knowledge of insurance policy wordings, equivalent broker and market clauses
- Disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment and pricing.
- Additional language skills in addition to English an asset.

As a member of the Commercial Insurance Energy, Marine and Construction team, the Junior Underwriter – Fine Art & Specie will work in an established underwriting team, working on a portfolio of Fine Art, Jewellers Block, General Specie and Cash in Transit risks in accordance with Zurich guidelines.
You will take a solution-oriented approach as you develop your Underwriting career with our Broker partners and our customers. Interaction and cooperation with other Lines of Business as needed to ensure we are able to respond to our customers’ needs.
