      What is the opportunity?

      This position will primarily focus on the day-to-day operations required for trade order execution and management, custody/fund units/underlying securities reconciliation and the production of an accurate net asset value for the Legacy segregated funds. You will also be responsible to effectively manage operational risk by investigating questionable transactions & discrepancies, streamline existing operations procedures & processes and support the development and execution of new initiatives sponsored by the business.

      What will you do?

      • Ensure all required data for producing the NAV are available and quality ensured, prepare the NAV for funds and liaise with business areas concerning issues affecting the valuation of funds

      • Review a reconcile transactions of assigned funds – analyze cash flow activities, reconcile assets and cash balances, maintain a balanced cash account. Also research discrepancies to investigate questionable transactions

      • Review and reconcile various account holdings (i.e. custody) and investigate & correct any variances

      • Perform audit checks to support the calculation of net asset values; perform reasonability test on the increase/decrease of the net asset value of a fund

      • Review existing Legacy Seg Fund operations procedures & processes to identify potential risks exposures

      • Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining the infrastructure to support the Legacy segregated fund

      • Support the development and execution of the Wealth Product initiatives

      What will you need to succeed?

      Must have:

      • University or college degree in finance, accounting or other business-related fields

      • Minimum of 2 to 3 years in finance accounting

      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & under tight deadlines

      • Strong MS Office Skills: Microsoft Excel, Word

      • Excellent analytical skills, accuracy and detail-oriented

      • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills

      Nice-to-have:

      • Good technical knowledge on calculating Net Asset Value and knowledge of accounting standards

      • Strong securities industry knowledge

      • Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
