- Identifies, recruits, and establishes relationships with businesses, local workforce agencies, and education partners that will provide work-based learning experiences across the continuum, such as internships, job shadow experiences, career mentoring, pre-apprenticeships, and other related applicable opportunities.
- Maintains open and positive communication between students and outside job/internship employers and acts as liaison to support work-based learning activities and related student activities. Such duties may include but are not limited to communicating with employers, business partners, and students at work sites; following up with students and employers to evaluate the progress and interventions necessary for the successful completion of job and internship training programs.
- Facilitates activities in support of work-based learning opportunities to assure students are effectively and efficiently developing the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and work habits necessary for employment.
- Administers and interprets career inventory assessments to assist with job and internship matching.
- Inputs, updates, and extracts K-16 data from college, district, and/or K-12 partner databases to maintain automated files and records. Initiates reports and generates a variety of spreadsheets, computerized lists, reports, and documents. Assures accuracy of input and output data for Career Education and Assessment purposes.
- Designs and executes specialized reports using a variety of databases and software.
- Monitors databases and reports to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
- Reconciles data between student information systems and district, state, and federal reporting information.
- Collaborates with all appropriate stakeholders to promote career pathways as well as gather and analyze applicable work-based learning data.
- Performs complex and technical work involving reviewing and auditing of a variety of career education print and electronic reports, marketing/outreach communications, financial/fiscal processes, and documents requiring familiarity with policies, practices, and procedures.
- Provides user training in electronic/software applications as necessary.
- Manages K-16 grant budgets; assists with processing purchase orders and invoices; monitors office and project expenditures; processes invoices, requisitions, and purchase orders in accordance with established guidelines, and maintains auditable records.
- Assists in developing career education advertisements and other related marketing materials and information for distribution to stakeholders.
- Attends and participates in career education, grant, regional consortium, and other related meetings and conferences. Attends and participates in OC Pathways and K-16 Collaboratives grant administration meetings.
- Engages and collaborates with Counselors, CTE Teachers, Faculty, Staff, Administrators, and OC Pathways in the planning, development, and evaluation of the K-16 grant projects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned that support the objective of the position.
- Required to abide by all District policies and procedures including Board Policy 3050 – Code of Professional Ethics.
- Requires working knowledge of the goals, objectives, and functions set forth for student work-based programs and the information needed to monitor progress toward educational outcomes.
- Requires proficiency in office-related software programs and database management software.
- Requires working knowledge of enterprise-level systems, data warehouses, and exchanges that enable data compilation for further analytics.
- Requires knowledge of California Education Code and Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) law as it applies to student information.
- Requires professional-level knowledge of and skill at using proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation for reports and communications.
- Requires sufficient math skills to administer budgets, and understand reports containing financial and demographic information.
- Requires well-developed human relations skills to prepare and make presentations, facilitate group processes, resolve problems and confrontations, and convey technical or policy details to general audiences.
- Requires the ability to perform the essential responsibilities and functions of the position.
- Requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee and student information.
- Requires the ability to supervise and coordinate special projects and complex office functions.
- Requires the ability to develop, plan, and sequence steps to successfully execute special projects related to the assigned programs.
- Requires the ability to learn, interpret, explain, and apply knowledge of District and department organization, operations, programs, functions, and special industry terminology.
- Requires the ability to manage, plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects through all phases, including analysis, research, implementation, and evaluation in order to meet schedules and timelines.
- Requires the ability to analyze situations and implement the appropriate actions or response.
- Requires the ability to effectively write and present professional reports, presentations, and correspondence for a diverse audience including, but not limited to, the Board of Trustees, administrators, faculty, staff, students, elected officials, and the community.
- Requires the ability to communicate with a wide range of contacts within and outside the District with tact, professionalism, and courtesy, and in a manner that reflects positively on the department and District.
- Requires the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff of faculty, administration, staff, and students.
- The general physical demands, working conditions, and essential job functions associated with this classification will be kept on file with the Office of Human Resources.

- The position typically requires graduation from high school or equivalent. An Associate's degree or 48-semester units of coursework from an accredited institution. AND Two (2) years of experience in job/internship development and placement and/or employer engagement and community relations in an educational institution.

- Demonstrated evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the racial, ethnic, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity within the community college student population, including students with different ability statuses (e.g., physical and/or learning) as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.

- The campus President will make the final recommendation for employment to the Board of Trustees.

This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties to assist and support the planning, organizing, and coordinating of student enrollment in work-based learning activities based on various K-16 Projects.

This is a temporary contract, full-time, categorical-funded, 12-months per year, Classified Management position. The District reserves the right to extend, modify, or eliminate this position based upon available funds. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexible schedules and weekends might be necessary to address the needs of programs and job duties. The effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor. The District provides medical, dental, and vision insurance for the employee and eligible dependents and life insurance for the employee. (Salary Schedule: DG-3)

Pay Philosophy:
Through policies, practices, and other benefit programs, Coast Community College District delivers a fair and equitable total compensation program that promotes equal employment opportunity, inclusion, and workforce vitality. All movement on the salary schedule will occur July 1 of each year for all classified employees.
