- We are seeking a passionate and dynamic K-4 Music Teacher to join our dedicated team at Liberty Local Schools The ideal candidate will inspire a love for music in young students while fostering their creativity and self-expression. This position involves developing engaging lesson plans, teaching foundational music concepts, and enhancing students' appreciation for various musical genres.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate music curriculum for grades K-4, aligning with state standards and educational goals.
- Teach basic music theory, vocal techniques, and instrumental skills through interactive lessons and activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and a love of music.
- Introduce students to various musical genres and cultures, promoting diversity and appreciation for different musical traditions.
- Organize and lead grade-level music performances, concerts, and events, including rehearsals and preparation.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal methods, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music into other subjects and enhance interdisciplinary learning.
- Maintain classroom materials and instruments, ensuring a safe and organized learning space.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to promote the music program and encourage student participation.
- Assist the High School programs where needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or licensure in music education (or the eligibility to obtain one).
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, vocal performance, and various musical styles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to foster a positive learning environment and adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs. Preferred Skills.
- Experience with classroom management and differentiated instruction.
- Familiarity with current music education technology and resources.
- Background in performance (vocal, instrumental, or both) is a plus. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students and staff for extended periods. Additional Information
- This position may require occasional evening and weekend school events and activities commitments.
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
