      THE JOB:

      As a K-9 Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of employees and guests by utilizing a trained and certified detection dog to locate suspicious packages or objects.

      THE DAY-TO-DAY:

      • Maintain the canine's proficiency in detection through routine training and certification.
      • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the assigned K9, including proper feeding and grooming is performed daily before going to properties and venues.
      • Maintain accurate records of all K9 activities, including search results, daily training logs, and veterinary care.
      • Maintain all assigned canine-related equipment, conduct daily kennel care and p erform basic canine emergency first-aid as needed.
      • Work with a trained K9 to perform security sweeps of designated areas, for all MGMRI properties and event venues located in Las Vegas, NV.
      • Conduct proactive searches for prohibited items such as explosives, narcotics, or other contraband by searching vehicles, MGMRI executive aircraft, packages, backpacks, mail, containers, rooms, buildings, areas, or other objects as directed that could contain explosive materials or weapons.
      • Collaborate with other security personnel to ensure comprehensive coverage and effective communication during operations.
      • Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, utilizing K9s for crowd control, searches, and other security-related tasks.
      • Participate in regular training exercises to maintain and improve the K9’s skills and reliability.
      • Provide exceptional guest service while maintaining a high level of vigilance and professionalism.

      THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

      • At least 2 years of prior experience in law enforcement, military, or private security, and/or legal within profession.
      • Advanced knowledge in the area of investigations.
      • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
      • Must have the ability to pass a company approved canine certification course within the first 90 days of employment.
      • Must have or be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Registration.
      • Any prior K-9 Handler experience is a bonus.

      THE STARTING PAY:

      • $22.69 per hour

      THE SCHEDULE:

      • Full-time hours that may include varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
      • 4 days per week. 10-hour shifts.
      • Sunday to Wednesday, 10-hour shift for training schedule (swing timeframe). After successful completion, then a permanent schedule will be established.
