      Job Summary:

      Mobile Technician II is responsible for performing automotive repairs and service in accordance with store and factory standards. This individual utilizes their skills to diagnose and resolve the different sources of automotive problems swiftly and accurately. The Mobile Technician II works with all service personnel and management to ensure the satisfaction of our customers.

      Essential Functions:

      1. Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
      2. Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and in accordance with dealership and/or factory standards.
      3. Perform maintenance, minor repairs, and vehicle recalls and complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
      4. Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work and ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
      5. Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clocking procedures.
      6. Document work performed and test procedures/results on paper-based repair orders.
      7. Responsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of standard mechanic tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels, and punches, as well as other tools necessary for the technician's work; ensure "special tools" are returned to their proper place.
      8. Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
      9. Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
      10. Conduct multipoint inspections (MPI), explain findings and necessary repairs to customers, and identify additional service opportunities based on vehicle inspection and customer needs.
      11. Promote and sell maintenance packages, extended warranties, and other dealership services.
      12. Collect customer signatures and payment on repair orders.
      13. Enter repair and test procedures/results using a computer at the dealership.
      14. Travel to off-site locations within a designated area in company assigned vehicles to complete mobile maintenance; locations may be at a residence or business.
      15. Follow all federal, state, and local regulations governing automotive service and repair, including Cal/OSHA.
      16. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
      17. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures; including wearing protective gear and equipment as required.
      18. Maintain satisfactory attendance.
      19. Perform other related duties as assigned.

      Qualifications:

      Minimum Qualifications:

      1. 1 year experience as an entry-level automotive technician, or 1 year of completed automotive hands-on course work.
      2. Valid driver's license and safe driving record; required to have California driver's license within 10 days following date of hire.
      3. Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations that affect operations.
      4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
      5. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
      6. Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      1. Completion of National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), a certified technical training program in automotive technology at a high school or at a community college.
      2. Acquire and maintain manufacturer and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications by completing the necessary and required training.
      3. Excellent mechanical repair skills.
      4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
      5. Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
      6. Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
      7. Ability to read and interpret service and repair manuals.
      8. Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
      9. Ability to read and interpret work orders.

      Physical Demands:

      1. Frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen.
      2. Occasionally climb or balance; bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat or crawl to perform repairs and inspections.
      3. Manual dexterity to handle tools and small parts.
      4. Work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
      5. Frequently lift 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
      6. Work in tight spaces.
      7. Work is conducted outside at customers residence or place of business.
      8. Noise level in the work environment may be loud.
      9. May encounter many odors in the work area some of which may be hazardous; Frequent exposure to contaminants such as antifreeze and chemical degreasers.
      10. Exposure to hazardous conditions and equipment that may result in minor injuries.
      11. May encounter variety of weather conditions working outside.
      12. May occasionally walk on slippery surfaces.
      13. Note: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
      14. Work both indoors and outdoors.
      15. May work in close proximity to other technicians and mechanics.
