      We are seeking a Kafka Admin to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Docker Container Apache Active MQ GITHUB IBM CP4I KSQL Kafka Schema Registry Kafka IBM Event Streams Event Driven Notification Event driven architecture Kafka Connect Apache Log4J IBM MQ Light JSON Rest API SOAP and IBM MQ. Experience in Core Commerce is a plus.

      In this role, you will:

      • Handle and supervise Kafka cluster, ACL, Kafka Connect, and KSQL.
      • Supervise all aspects of Kafka environment establishment, from design to cluster configuration, performance improvements, and continuous monitoring.
      • Perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for the Kafka Cluster2.
      • Build key performance metrics, measuring the utilization, performance, and overall health of the cluster2.
      • Capacity planning and implementation of new/upgraded hardware and software releases as well as for storage infrastructure2.
      • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automate key administration tasks2.
      • Provide technical expertise and guidance to production support2.

      What you’ll need to succeed (required skills):

      • Strong experience with Docker Container Apache Active MQ and GITHUB.
      • Must have expertise in IBM CP4I KSQL and Kafka Schema Registry.
      • Mandatory experience with Kafka IBM Event Streams and Event Driven Notification.
      • Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures using Kafka Connect and Apache Log4J.
      • Must have experience with IBM MQ Light JSON Rest API and SOAP.

      What will help you stand out (preferred skills):

      • Good to have certifications-
      • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) IBM Certified Solution Developer
      • Good communication and collaboration skills with the ability to optimally liaise with customers at all levels of the organization.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client office in Vancouver, BC.

      We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD $83,000 – CAD $95,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
