      About Our Job

      This is a part-time position which will work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. Part-time positions may have routine or variable work schedules. This posting will accept applications until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

      The City and County of Denver's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking reliable Recreation Assistants for Kid Watch at Carla Madison Recreation Center. Kid Watch Attendants will assist in facilitating the overall operations of the Kid Watch Child Care Facility. This childcare service is available to all members and guests of Carla Madison Recreation Center while they utilize the facility. Kid Watch provides short-term childcare service for children ages 1 - 7. You will help implement a variety of activities which may include: sports, active games, arts and crafts, dance, drama, fitness, music, and various recreational, educational, or cultural enrichment events.

      We are looking for individuals who are available to work any of the scheduled Kid Watch times listed below:

      • 7:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Monday – Friday

      • 3:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Monday – Friday

      • 7:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Saturday – Sunday

      Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Provides short-term childcare and supervision

      • Provides a safe and fun environment in which both children and their parents feel comfortable

      • Completing and reporting accidents or injuries occurring in the assigned area; completing required forms for each child placed in and removed from Kid Watch

      • Assists lead by actively participating in activities and taking initiative to facilitate programming

      • Communicates with the lead and supervisor when cleaning supplies and/or program materials are needed

      • Develop positive relations with customers; communicate recreation programs information to participants and parents

      • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

      About You

      Our ideal candidate will have:

      • Flexible schedule

      • Previous experience working with youth

      • Current CPR/First Aid Certification

      • Education: None

      • Experience: None

      • Licensures/Certification(s): Must be at least 14 years of age at the time of application. Requires certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or within six months hire date. Licensure and certification must be kept current as a condition of employment.
