- One year management experience required to include hiring, firing, reviewing, and budget
- Two years of relevant early education experience
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and/or education required
- Must be able to routinely perform the following physical activities; climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit and stand for extended periods of time, walk, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity to perform detailed tasks
- Must have ability to lead and delegate to others and communicate effectively; both orally and in writing
- Must possess problem solving, organizational and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment
- Must be detail oriented and exhibit a high degree of accuracy and alertness
- Must demonstrate initiative in absence of supervision
- Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
- Must work collaboratively as a team member as well as independently and lead by assigned goals, duties and deadlines
- Must possess ability to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality
- Must present a neat and professional appearance at all times

- Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
- Complete CPR/AED, First Aid, O2, and Listen First Workshop in accordance with Conditions of Employment
- Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association
- Effectively communicating the mission, vision and values of the Wichita YMCA.
- Develop and implement programs directly serving the identified needs of the target audiences.
- Ensure all programs comply with Kansas State and YMCA standards and methods of operation.
- If needed program size is large enough, recruit, hire, train, schedule and manage part time program staff.
- Serve as a member of the branch team performing specific duties which support the overall success of branch operations.
- All other duties as assigned.
GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the guidance of the Branch Director, the Pro gram Director is responsible for the development and implementation of programs, advocacy efforts and training for parents, children, non-profits and child care providers to support early education and Kindergarten readiness. This position is a year-round position working in various settings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Operations:
4. Monitor and evaluate delivery and effectiveness of programs striving to attain the highest possible level of quality.
5. Recruit program and training participants and assist in the development of recruiting tools for full program capacity/attendance.
6. Serve as the point of contact and facilitator for the collective impact initiative, fostering strong relationships and trust among partner organizations.
7. Organize and facilitate regular workshops for daycare providers, educators, parents, and community partners to advance the common agenda.
8. Ensure effective communication and information sharing among all participating organizations.
9. Assist in the development of recruiting tools for full program capacity/attendance.
10. Be visible within the program facility and community.
11. Respond to all program and community inquiries and concerns within 24 hours.
12. Communicate in a timely manner to supervisor.
Staff/Volunteer Development:
2. Review and evaluate staff performance.
3. Maintain staff and volunteer retention through positive reinforcement and support.
4. Responsible for documenting staff meetings/development and trainings.
Fiscal Management:
1. Stay within the budget as assigned.
2. Monitor purchases and stay within the designated design of the programs.
3. Assist in the development of new program/grant budgets.
4. Assist in the development of new grant applications.
5. Assist in the grant reports that are required.
Strong Community Campaign/Financial Development:
1. Participate in assigned aspects of Strong Community Campaign to ensure goals are met.
Facilities:
1. Maintain complete familiarity with all risk management procedures and policies of facilities being used by programs.
2. Maintain program area in an orderly, clean and safe condition. Reporting any irregularities to facility supervisors.
3. Keep an up-to-date inventory on all program equipment, materials and supplies.
Other:
2. Communicate information promptly to all branch leadership and departmental staff.
3. Attend applicable training and conferences to further professional development.
EFFECT ON END RESULT : The number of students ready for Kindergarten in Wichita will increase.
