Assist in preparing food items according to guest orders of consistent quality following recipe cards, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards; support in completing mis en place and set-up station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service.
Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment, including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill.
Store food items according to company standards and procedures.
Date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
Return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
Assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments as required for the next shift.
Assist with set-up and cleaning of operational areas.
Assist with food preparation in other kitchen areas when needed.
Develop and present a project work to reinforce training.
Education: High school education or equivalent experience.
A genuine passion for food preparation and basic culinary knowledge.
Team work and flexible approach.
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English or Italian.
This position requires the ability to lift equipment, carry and balance trays.
Travel required: None.

At Four Seasons Hotel Firenze we are looking for a passionate Kitchen and Pastry Interns to work in different sections of the kitchen learning how to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner food items per guest orders in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
