Summary Statement: The Kitchen Worker is responsible for maintaining the resort kitchens. This position will clean and sanitize the kitchen equipment, dining ware, and food preparation areas, as well as dispose of waste. Everyone works in EVS–If there is trash on the floor, it is your responsibility to pick it up. If it is a mess that needs more attention, it is your responsibility to notify the appropriate department or individual. Everyone works in Guest Experience–If a guest needs assistance, it is your responsibility to assist that guest and do so with a smile. If the guest needs more assistance than you can provide, it is your responsibility to notify the appropriate department or individual. Primary Job Responsibilities - Includes but, is not limited to: Ensures all Resorts World core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied. Develop and implement strategies for stewarding area that are aligned with Resort’s World food and beverage objectives. Maintaining a clean, sanitized and safe working environment in the F&B areas. Ensure the cleanliness and sanitizing of all dishware, glassware, silverware, kitchen equipment, kitchen surfaces, and floors throughout the outlet. Empty, wash, and return trash bins, along with all cardboard boxes that need to be broken down for recycling. Keep wash area and mop closets clean and organized. Pitch in to help with special and deep cleaning projects. Manage waste receptacles throughout the building. Communicate and reinforce the service vision of Resort’s World to the supervisors and employees. Monitor and control chemical consumption and notify managers when running low. Assist in aiding with training of new employees, teaching them the correct and proper way, under RW guidelines and SOP’s. Participating in daily line-ups or pre-shift meetings. Team members must adhere to Resorts World Company guidelines as stated in team member training manual and employee handbook. Addressing any major odors and safety issues, as it relates to broken glassware and spills in a prompt manner. Take corrective action and notifying management of any issues with the facility, equipment, employee issues or concerns, and any safety hazards. Maintaining the proper operation of cleaning equipment/dish machines daily. Will be assigned to help in Banquets stewarding when needed. Other duties as assigned. Competencies: Includes but is not limited to: Must have prior experience in a full service kitchen operation, dishwashing or other cleaning job capacity. Must be able to work under pressure, in a controlled, chaotic environment. Displays a positive attitude towards team members. Demonstrates Honesty, Fairness and Integrity. Demonstrates the ability to follow up with tasks. English reading, writing, math and computer skills required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Thorough knowledge of chemical and temperature safety standards and MSDS. Current food safety certification and employs good safety and sanitation practices. Working knowledge of stewarding and beverage operation. Knowledge of kitchen equipment. Ability to effectively communicate in English. Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Preferred: Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting. Knowledge of OS&E and storage requirements. Knowledge of Banquet preparation and operation. Ability to Speak in Spanish, and other languages. Experience in large volume operation. Knowledge of union as well as non-union working environments. Minimum Education and Experience: High School degree or equivalent. Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary or other related area a plus. Certificates, Licenses, Regulations: Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Position requires SNHD Food Handler Card.
