      Job summary and scope:

      Manage a large and complex kitting operation and labor provider. Supervise labor provider working within established operational systems. Identify shortcomings in existing production processes, systems, and procedures; deliver straightforward improvements to production processes and methods. Help management to implement quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous process improvements.

      Job Responsibilities:

      • Ensure all quality related documentation and records are created, filled out completely and accurately, and records are maintained, (kitting reports, conversion sheets, drawings, BOM, etc.)
      • Identify root cause for productivity and quality issues, and write corrective action reports when needed
      • Work closely with with external assembly suppliers to ensure production compliance and process transparency
      • Making sure reporting provides accurate and timely information
      • Determine space requirements for Kitting storage and Production area
      • Ensure all quarantined and/or non-conforming materials are managed correctly both physically and systemically
      • Work with relevant parties to manage obsolete, aged, and damaged inventory.
      • Maintain accurate maintenance records for all machinery.
      • Establish and maintain an appropriate replacement parts stock as recommended by the manufacturer of each machine. Keep a log of the required parts for each machine, and where each piece can be sourced.
      • Continually look for and identify areas for improvement and manage the CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) process to achieve improvements in cost, performance, safety, quality, etc.
      • Understand all regulatory requirements Veritiv must adhere to for FDA compliance, and other regulatory requirements.
      • Ensure working environment is safe
      • Reports ALL incidents, accidents, near misses and personal injuries to manager and EHS.
      • Manage costs to ensure customer profitability
      • Other duties as assigned

      Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or equivalent work experience
      • Five plus (5+) years’ experience working in a warehouse environment. Distribution warehouse experience is preferred.
      • Experience with, and an in-depth knowledge of a myriad of software solutions, and their management: ERP, WMS, and Production Planning
      • Excellent organizational, time management and customer relations skills are required.
      • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
      • Self-motivation and strength in balancing competing priorities, balance changing workloads and projects
      • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

      Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to work in office & warehouse environments
      • Ability to operate a variety of material handling equipment is required, including, but not limited to, order pickers, reach trucks, runners, and forklifts.
      • Responsibilities will be in an office space often located inside a non-climate controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur.
      • Will work around moving machinery such as forklifts, saw and cutter machines, hot plates/tables, pallet jacks.
      • Noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
      • Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, operating vehicles and shift work is required.

      Physical Requirements:

      Ability to continually lift, twist, pull and carry 50 -75 pounds

      • Ability to use and/or supervise the correct use of various material handling equipment (Pallet jacks, order pickers, hand trucks, stand-up reaches, forklifts, scaners/laser guns, slip sheeter, roll grabbers, saw and cutter machines, hot plates/tables, truck/trailer lift gates, etc.)

      Physical activities required of this job include, but are not limited to:

      • Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete inventory audits.
      • Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment or while performing administrative tasks.
      • Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance.
      • Stooping - performed when filling orders, inspecting machinery, trailers or putting away products assigned to floor level locations. May bend at the waist.
      • Kneeling - may kneel when filling orders inspecting machinery or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.

      • Improvement, optimization and control strategy.
