Job Description

- Obtains applicable AF records management training and properly identifies, stores, searches, retrieves, and disposes of records in accordance with the most up-to-date published version of AFI 33-322 or its successor instruction.
- Drafts manual and automated file plans and procedures.
- Assists with the retrieval and disposal of records.
- Operates and manages a record staging area for inactive records storage for AFCEC.
- Sets up records management training.
- Provides information on PA and FOIA process.
- Provides advice and support assistance on a range of records management and administrative communications regarding information flow processing, controlling, and distributing mail, and the management of records management tasks.
- Assists and advises support staff on issues with records management to include processing, controlling, and distributing mail.
- Operates information systems (standalone and networked) to create, collect, use, access, disseminate, maintain, and dispose of information.
- Assists customers determine life cycle management of their information.
- Reviews AFCEC records on an annual basis in accordance with current AFMAN 33-364.
- Assists in the operation of the building Official Mail Center by providing mail center operations related to functional program execution in accordance with DoD 4525.6M and DoD 4525.8M.
- Maintains Mail Center ADP applications to include mail processing (in/out going) and screening for AFCEC directorates at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), processing receipted mail packages for over.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Associate’s Degree or higher and minimum of five (5) years of experience or ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in managing FOIA requests, records, and mail.
- Superior time management skills.
- Skilled in managing FOIAs, records, and mail.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Air Force and Department of Defense corporate processes.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Organizations skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of AF Records Information Management System (AFRIMS).
- Knowledge of AFMAN 33-363.
- Familiar with FOIA process.

Provide expertise in support of developing work products across AFCEC to ensure a robust records communications and knowledge management (KM) program. Support record searches and administrative communications in maintaining offices of records to initiate and support Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and close record searches in the Air Force (AF) Records Information Management System (AFRIMS).
***The ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required***
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Knowledge Manager: $120,000 to $135,000 plus Cost-of-Living Allowance and Post Differential ($149,000 to $155,500).
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
