Additional Information About the Role Looking for a Phlebotomist with a desire to learn and grow. We are looking for either experienced or entry level Phlebotomist to join our forward thinking team. Day shift (9am-5:30pm) Rotating weekend and holidays Sign-on bonus eligible up to $1,000 Overview Christian Hospital is a full-service acute care community hospital located on 28 acres in north St. Louis County. Christian Hospital is noted for its excellence in heart services and lifesaving cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, breast health services, orthopedic/spine surgery, hyperbaric wound care, pain management, vascular surgery, endocrinology, gastrointestinal care, stroke care, nephrology, therapy, radiology, urology, pulmonary care and treating sleep disorders. Northwest HealthCare, located six miles west of Christian Hospital, provides the community 24-hour emergency care, with Washington University Physicians and St. Louis Children’s Hospital providing pediatric services. Northwest HealthCare is also home to the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of full-service outpatient diagnostic and imaging services in a convenient setting. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Performs a variety of pre analytic, analytic and post analytic laboratory duties as assigned. Responsibilities Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, sweat chloride collections, EKG's, etc. Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate. Sorts and processes routine and specific high level specimens received by the lab--including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.). Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send out tests. Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
