      Job Description

      Zekelman, is seeking a Lab Technician Intern at our Sharon Tube Division. The Lab Technician Intern position will assist and provide support to the Zekelman Industries Technical Team at the Farrell Pa Facility. The position is year-round and will continue through graduation. Candidates must reside within commuting distance to the facility. Work is scheduled around the candidate’s class schedule but will include weekend hours. Average weekly hours during the school semester will be approximately twenty-five with a potential of more hours during school breaks.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Mechanical testing of pipe/tubing samples
      • Chemical testing of process tanks
      • Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis
      • Hardness analysis
      • Computer data input
      • Scanning of order backup
      • Other projects as assigned

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • High School Diploma/GED required
      • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college/university preferably in the technical field i.e. Engineering, Chemistry, etc.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
      • Proficient computer skills (word processing and spreadsheets)
      • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
