Job Description

- Follow and demonstrate competency with Lube Lab Methodologies
- Screen and assign preliminary tests to all incoming samples such as plant lubrication systems, mobile equipment crankcase and transmission oils, hydraulics, transformers, and greases.
- Ensure measuring systems used to acquire equipment condition data are accurate.
- Assist in the identification of unknown samples.
- Prepare solutions as required.
- Dispose of used oil and solvents as per the waste oil disposal procedure
- Follow all lube lab job safe practices.
- Preference will be given to candidates enrolled in a Chemical Engineering Technologist or Technician Program or recently graduated.
- Advanced trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic personal computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Self-starter with the ability to follow directions and work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Experience with lab instrumentation would be an asset.
- Combination of office and manufacturing environment. ( 80% lab,20% office)
- Required to wear personal protective equipment.
- Exposure to solvents, chemicals, new and used lubricants, transformer fluids, grease and noise.
- Required to climb stairs, able to stand for long for periods of time and lift to a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Days, Monday to Thursday (10 hour shift) with extended hours as required to meet project deadlines.

Background
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated full-time employee with an educational background in chemistry to join our Central Trade Services Team. The successful candidate will be part of a high-performing team supporting the Lubrication Lab in the CTS Predictive Technology Services Business Unit.
Overall Responsibility:
As a Lubrication Technologist in our Predictive Technology Services department, your primary function will be to receive and assist in the analyzing, of new and used oil samples to determine contamination, wear condition and serviceability condition data to enable information-based maintenance decisions.
