      The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking a Labor Relations Coordinator (Administrative Specialist III) to work in the Office of Employee and Labor Relations. The selected incumbent will be responsible for providing office and administrative support associated with employee and labor relations proceedings. The incumbent will be responsible for researching, processing, compiling, and entering data for: appeal hearings, grievances, mediations, and arbitrations. The employee is involved in making recommendations for internal office procedures and workflow processes, as well as maintaining office schedules and important/confidential office records and files. The Labor Relations Coordinator utilizes specialized labor-related software and database systems to input data, track information and generate reports through Laborsoft and Track-IT software. The incumbent in this position explains policies, resolves personnel issues with management and employees, and participates administratively in Union Negotiation meetings with Labor Relations Specialists when required. The Labor Relations Specialist is also responsible for providing regular updates on the Office's efforts and progress and reports directly to the Director and Deputy Director of Employee and Labor Relations.

      This position is located in Baltimore City, Maryland.


      Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

      Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work. ** One (1) year of this experience must include experience in processing appeals, grievances, mediation or arbitration in a public service work environment.
