Job Description

- Plan and ensure that the testing schedule is met
- Be the key user of analytical equipment such as SEM-EDX, Potentiostat and 3D microscope.
- Drive customer required tests, analyse results and report on time
- Be part of laboratory development team
- Participate in I&T PT research projects and problem-solving activities
- Initiate, define and propose innovative ideas
- Perform other duties as assigned to maintain workflow or respond to emergency conditions
- Strong commitment for implementation of lean tools for continuous improvement in the Lab
- Strong commitment to safety
- Support development & implementation of HSE policies and programs
- Engage in relevant HSE activities
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience a plus
- BSc or MSc University degree in Metallurgy/Materials/Chemistry/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Work with mindset of continuous improvement in the Lab with house-keeping mind set of 5S
- Familiar with various international standards related to materials and corrosion tests a plus
- Understanding of aluminium 3XXX and 6XXX alloys and their corrosion performances a plus
- Good understanding and knowledge about coating systems, both metallic and non-metallic a plus
- Good time management skills
- Fluent english - verbal and written. A Scandinavian or another additional language is an advantage.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office system

You will be part of Hydro Extrusion’s Innovation and Technology organization which has a dedicated team to support Precision Tubing (I&T PT). The I&T PT team includes metallurgists, physicists, mechanical engineers, and chemists located in several sites around the globe. Precision Tubing (PT) is one of four business units in Hydro Extrusions, with 13 production facilities located in six countries over four continents (North America, South America, Europe, and Asia). PT delivers extruded tubes primarily for automotive applications.
To strengthen our team in Tønder Denmark we are looking to hire research engineer who enjoys working in the interface of R&D and production. This position will provide you with the opportunity to affect the future of new aluminium products, expand your knowledge of aluminium industrial manufacturing processes, and work with colleagues in a variety of disciplines through close cooperation within PT and other Hydro business areas.Responsibilities:
