Job Description
- Req#: 331439
- Carry out analytical testing on product to ensure the process remains in specification.
- Ensure that the online and laboratory analytical equipment is maintained.
- Carry out analytical testing on product and raw materials including potato testing to specifications are met.
- Deliver QFS trainings and conduct skill checks as required.
- Ensure that non-conforming product is placed on hold, facilitate close out and raise all relevant documents based on product disposition.
- Be a participant in Quality product assessment.
- Carry out sanitation audits including post hygiene checks when required and swab to verify cleaning.
- Be a point person for at least a program each in Analytical Systems (ASHA) and Quality Systems (QSHA).
- Be the champion for quality on the assigned shift.
- Uphold the QSHA and ASHA programs and participate actively in programs requiring quality support.
- Provide assistance on the line during quality and food safety issues.
- Assist in complaints investigation and analyse trends data as required.
- Participate in food safety audits and ensure action plans are followed through.
- Assist in pest control activities.
- Verify online quality documents including CCPs (Critical Control point).
- Facilitate the release of materials on Quarantine from SAP.
- Update quality and food safety documents as required.
- Assist in the coordination of chemical awareness, training and application.
- Manage Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
- Diploma/Degree in Food Science or B. Tech (Food).
- 0-2 years experience in a technical role within the food industry.
- Strong bias toward processes, materials and packaging systems.
- Good Interpersonal Skills and excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
- Good technical, analytical, and writing Skills.
- Computer literacy, strong attention to detail.

Through the support of the Quality Manager, the purpose of this position is to support quality control systems to ensure that the product produced on all manufacturing lines meet Bluebirds quality and food safety standards thus ensuring consumer satisfaction. Support manufacturing lines by performing analytical tests in the lab to ensure the processes remain in specification on a rotating shift basis.
Please note this is a fixed term contract position for 12 months
Twilight shift: 40 hours per week Monday – Friday (3.00pm – 11.30pm)
