Job Description
- Req#: 853673
- Complete mechanical and dimensional testing of metal samples following work instructions and ASTM specifications. (Tensile Strength, Rockwell hardness, grain size, coating thickness, etc.)
- Utilize router, shear and other small power tools to shape samples to required dimensions.
- Prepare and analyze solid metal samples for chemical composition.
- Enter data accurately and completely to record test results and communicate those results to required parties. Maintain associated databases as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration to keep test equipment in good working order.
- Maintain retention sample inventory for required intervals.
- Support Quality and R&D departments with special testing protocols.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree in Science-related field, and/or 3 years of laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Manufacturing or metals experience preferred.
- General understanding of PCs and related software experience.
- Sound communication, organizational and analytical skills with the ability to plan work.
- Proper use of testing equipment.
- Familiarity with ASTM methods.
- We are currently hiring for a 12-hour, rotating shift position working 3 days one week, and 4 days the following week. This is a day shift position from 7 AM - 7 PM.
