Laboratory Technician (Traitomic A/S)

We are seeking a motivated, proactive, and engaged laboratory technician to join our operational team at Traitomic. At Traitomic, we are using a new generation of natural strain and crop improvement techniques, to tailor crops and microbes to the specific needs of our customers or consumers with unprecedented speed and specificity.

To meet our growth and development aspirations, we are now seeking a skilled laboratory technician that will perform in our molecular screening platform and support our crop genetists and project teams to deliver on our commercial commitments. You will become part of a highly skilled and motivated start-up team, and with an entrepreneurial mindset you will have the possibility to support us shape and grow the unit further.

What you’ll be doing

As laboratory technician you will be responsible for applying our patented improvement process across a diverse range of organisms by:

• screening for specific genetic variants in conventional and unconventional organisms
• analysing data and interpreting results
• accurately documenting all procedures and controls
• maintaining an organized and safe working environment
• restocking and maintaining proper inventory (ordering and receiving materials, rotation of stock, expiration dates, etc.,) of necessary supplies.
• support the improvement of high-throughput genetic screening techniques

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate holds an education as laboratory technician, has practical understanding of molecular biology techniques (such as DNA extraction and PCR), has familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), experience in high-throughput sample handling and preparation (liquid handling robots) and is excited by the prospect of working in a global environment that provides exposure to a range of exciting commercial projects on the one hand and the scope for innovating and shaping how to deploy our techniques for the benefit of our customers in the future.

Professional Qualifications:

• Practical experience in utilizing high-throughput molecular biology screening techniques is essential.
• Well organized, efficient, and highly self-motivated with good communication skills
• Motivated to autonomously work in the lab as well as collaborating with different team members.
• Flexibility in handling a diverse range of activities is beneficial.
