Job Description
- Req#: 98235
- Perform product testing of electrical utility products in an ISO 17025 accredited test laboratory.
- Execute test plans using prescribed test methods, laboratory quality documents and industry standards.
- Author test reports accurately describing test objects, equipment, methods, procedures, and test results.
- Maintain laboratory accreditation to ISO 17025, including managing equipment records, calibration activities, maintenance, training, cleaning, safety inspections, projects, and writing / updating quality documents and procedures.
- Work with Laboratory Manager, engineers, and peers on equipment design projects, and major laboratory initiatives.
- Interpret industry standards and qualify new test equipment, test cells, and test methods to meet the needs of Hubbell design teams and third-party customers.
- Participate in investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective/preventive actions for equipment and test non-conformances.
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience with PLC programming.
- Proficiency with Autodesk products or equivalent.
- Proficiency in modern programming language (e.g. Python, Matlab, visual basic, C, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, ability to travel on business related trips; ability to communicate; ability to work on a personal computer or other related equipment as required.
Job Overview
Provide laboratory testing services such as mechanical, environmental, high-voltage, high-power testing to Hubbell business units and third-party customers. Typical products tested are electrical utility distribution / transmission products.
