      Job Summary
      You will support the Division goal of ensuring customer service and supervises high exposure and complex large loss claims. You will direct conformity with the terms of each policy and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, established standards, and procedures of the company. You will leads team members that manage all aspects of claims process and service. You will specialize in large loss property field claims and lead a team of desk adjusters. You will be required to work in the field with adjusters. You will work remotely from the desk or from the field from Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, or Pennsylvania and will report to the Senior Manager, Adjusting Services.

      Compensation Minimum:$95,000 / year

      Compensation Maximum:$161,000 / year

      Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.

      Primary Accountabilities

      • Review accurate estimates completed by team members utilizing electronic estimating tools, replacement research results, and data to establish fair and competitive pricing within Fair Claims Acts, state laws and statutes regarding claim file handling.
      • Oversee and reviews factual reports within claim authority in coordination with management by recommending settlement values for large and complex claims as outlined in company policies & procedures and state regulations.
      • Administer company procedures and policies. Accesses electronic policy and claim history information.
      • Understand and apply Underwriting guidelines.
      • Handle claim negotiations by settling and providing best-in-class customer experience.
      • Manage team claim inventory and works toward meeting cycle-time goals for resolving files and issuing timely payments.
      • Assigns and adjusts authority levels. Identify staffing needs to adjust files.
      • Jointly identify opportunities for process improvements and establishes and implements action plans.
      • Proactively provide all parties with claim process and status, while answering questions or redirects to other lines of business.

      Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

      • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, and service in each phase of the claim handling process.
      • Demonstrated effective leadership experience.
      • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of office and field claim handling processes.
      • Demonstrates thorough understanding of policy language, coverages and underwriting intent.
      • Demonstrated organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere company productivity guidelines.•Demonstrated claims handling experience and licensing.
      • Demonstrated ability to recognize developing problems/conflicts and ability to resolve.

      Additional Qualifications

      • Five or more years property claims handling experience
      • Experience handling property claims $100,000 and up
      • Xactimate proficiency
      • Microsoft Office Excel proficiency
      • Property claims leadership and/or other leadership experience

      Licenses

      • Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.
      • Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing as required.

      Travel Requirements: Up to 15%.

      Physical Requirements Field Positions:

      • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like. This position may require employees to visit areas that have a higher hazard than a typical office such as customer homes, body shops, or other locations.
      • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
      • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

      Working Conditions Field Positions:

      • Low temperatures.
      • High temperatures.
      • Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
      • Noisy environments.
      • Hazardous conditions.
      • Poor ventilation.
      • Small and/or enclosed spaces.
